The reasons for this phenomenon, which interestingly can occur in one or both breasts and can even cause milk secretion in newborn boys, are many. They include:
Puberty. Boys in the throes of puberty often have what they fear is a pert pair of man boobs, but what is actually just a normal aspect of male development. So if you’re still a teen don’t fret: 75 percent of teens with man boobs (boy boobs?) will have flat chests by the time they reach adulthood, and probably won’t find themselves furtively shopping for a bra at Wal-Mart in a few years.
Prescribed medications. Side effects of specific drugs, from anti-depressants to even some allergy pills, can sometimes cause male breasts to swell.
Hyperthyroidism, a thyroid condition when too much of certain hormones are produced.

Your surgeon will make several small incisions in your breast and use a thin tube called a cannula to suck away the excess fat, which is removed through a suction-pump type device (if you think it sounds nasty, you’re right). Lipo can be done using either a local or general anesthesia, depending on what you and your surgeon together decide. Always use a board-certified surgeon with plenty of experience minimizing male breasts for best results.

However, if your excess breast tissue is composed primarily of glandular tissue, then you have what is called true gynecosmastia. This type of man boobs usually occurs due to excess hormones or genetics. Remember, however, that even true gynecomastia that starts at puberty will probably reverses itself within a few years, so if you’re 15 and sporting a pair of knockers that will comfortably fill a DD-cup, wait a few years before you panic.

If your male mammaries are the result of excess glandular tissue and are not going away on their own or through diet and exercise, excision may be your best choice. In this case, the surgeon must remove the glandular tissue by cutting it off, as opposed to through liposuction, because it is too dense and fibrous to be suctioned away as fatty tissue.

Excision is also preferable when there is a lot of excess skin to be removed, in addition to the glandular tissue (in order for the breasts to appear natural, it may be necessary to reposition the nipple, or reduce the areola). Occasionally, however, excision is done alongside liposuction as well. Be prepared for scars, although they usually fade in time.

Learning to Live with Man Boobs

While the vast majority of us are unhappy with something about the way we look, some people find that what they consider to be a physical defect starts to take over their lives, chipping away at their self-esteem and making them unhappy with their existence in general.

lots of cardio after your cardio you need to do push ups and def eat lots of fruits n veggies also if you can get some weights and a dip station do some bench press and dips but overall push ups are the best for a pec build up. good luck brotha.

Finally, it is important to be very consistent and persistent when dealing with this troubled area.  The fat will come of much slower than it will on your thighs and abdomen.  You may very well develop six-pack abdominals before your chest comes down to a size you are happy with, but be confident that it will eventually turn into a muscle group you can be very proud of showing off.

You Can Lose Chest Fat…But Read This First!

Many men these days are desperate to remodel their chests. I know that some of the most searched terms used in the Health and Fitness sector on the Internet are ‘How To Lose Chest Fat‘ or variations of that phrase. Also, in my work as a Fitness Instructor, I have very often been confronted with the task of showing a guy how, with the right attitude, he can re-model his chest into something that he can be proud of. There is no need to continue suffering the anguish of the rather feminine -looking breasts that he is very embarrassed about.
Before I can devise a program for a client I need to know whether his breasts are composed of an excess of glandular tissue, with or without fatty tissue or whether the problem is solely adipose[fatty] tissue. The reason is that there are two separate problems here and it is essential that a diagnosis has been made by a physician. The first condition is called Gynecomastia and the second is called Pseudogynecomastia.
A little lesson in Greek here…’Gyne’ means ‘Woman’, ‘Mastos’ means ‘Breast’ and ‘Pseudo’ means ‘False’.
Gynecomastia is caused by a hormonal imbalance, whereby the body produces too much Estrogen resulting in the normal Androgen/Estrogen ratio being upset. A doctor’s diagnosis is vital here as there are a list of possible causes:

  • Puberty itself
  • Some drugs and medications
  • Anabolic steroid abuse
  • Marijuana abuse
  • The ageing process
  • And many more conditions, some quite serious in thier own right.

The good news is that most cases of gynecomastia can be cured by addressing the cause, making lifestyle changes, nutritional changes and targeted exercises. With pseudogynecomastia, the situation is more straightforward from a fitness instructor’s point of view. Only adipose[fatty] tissue is involved and the client is invariably carrying fatty tissue elsewhere on his body…in other words, he is overweight.
As you can see, when someone asks me ‘can you tell me how to lose chest fat?’, I do need to be in posession of a number of facts. Once I know the actual condition I can then undertake the normal fitness tests- monitoring heart rate while exercising, lung capacity, flexibility, core stability, posture and so on. Then, I insist on 3 to 4 visits to the gym per week which is necessary to achieve the client’s professed desire to lose chest fat. Dietary planning and Lifestyle advice is also given at this stage.
One of the aims of any weight loss program is to raise the client’s metabolic rate[the rate at which they burn calories] which will help the overall fat- burning program. This is achieved by both cardio-vascular exercise and also by resistance work. Not everyone understands that adding lean mass[muscle], which is made up of living fibers, equates to a greater demand for calories by those extra fibers. Therefore, any workouts which aim to solve the problem of how to lose chest fat must include CV and resistance exercises.
Initially, the resistance exercises given to a client will be general, large muscle group exercises including abdominals. At subsequent re-assessments I can introduce ‘split’ workouts to target specific areas of the body on different days, not just to sculpt the chest but to strengthen the back, shoulders, arms, stomach and legs.
I can already hear the objections which many of you will raise about gym- based weight loss programs…’I don’t like gyms’: ‘I can’t afford gyms’:'I don’t live near a gym’. It was precisely because of these objections that I started to investigate alternative solutions on the subject of how to lose chest fat. Fat is fat. Try some cardio and use any extra energy you have left. If you continue to weight lift, don’t eat too little.
